Maryland requires pilot/escort vehicles for oversize loads exceeding 20' wide, 13' high, 75' long, or over 80,000 lbs. Loads over 13' wide require one escort; over 14' wide require 2 escorts; over 14'6" high require one escort. Escort operators must hold a survey. No oversize movement permitted on weekends.
