Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the National Pilot Car Association ("NPCA") website at nationalpca.org and related services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our services.

2. Description of Services

NPCA provides:

  • Membership services for pilot/escort vehicle operators
  • Access to state-by-state regulations database
  • Truck stop directory with pilot car-relevant information
  • Digital membership credentials
  • Member directory for networking
  • Industry news and updates

3. Membership

Eligibility

Membership is open to individuals who are at least 18 years of age and work in or are interested in the pilot/escort vehicle industry.

Membership Fees

Annual membership dues are $50 per year. Payment is processed through Stripe. Memberships automatically renew unless cancelled before the renewal date.

Cancellation

You may cancel your membership at any time through your account settings. Upon cancellation, you will retain access until the end of your current billing period. Membership fees are non-refundable.

4. User Accounts

You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
  • All activities that occur under your account
  • Providing accurate and current information
  • Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to:

  • Use our services for any unlawful purpose
  • Share your account credentials with others
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
  • Upload malicious content or software
  • Harass or abuse other members
  • Scrape or collect data from our platform without permission
  • Misrepresent your credentials or qualifications
  • Use our digital credentials fraudulently

6. Content and Information

Regulations Information

While we strive to provide accurate and up-to-date information about state regulations, this information is provided for general guidance only. Regulations change frequently, and you are responsible for verifying current requirements with official state agencies before operating.

Truck Stop Directory

Truck stop information is collected from various sources and may not reflect current conditions. We recommend calling ahead to verify amenities and availability.

User-Submitted Content

If you submit content (such as dispute reports or directory information), you grant us the right to use, modify, and display that content in connection with our services.

7. Digital Credentials

NPCA digital credentials verify your membership status only. They do not represent:

  • State-issued pilot car certifications or licenses
  • Professional endorsement of your services
  • Insurance coverage or liability protection
  • Authorization to operate in any particular state

Misuse of credentials may result in membership termination.

8. Member Directory

Participation in the member directory is optional. If you opt in, your professional information will be visible to other NPCA members. NPCA does not endorse, guarantee, or verify the services of directory members.

9. Intellectual Property

All content on our website, including text, graphics, logos, and software, is the property of NPCA or its licensors and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our permission.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

OUR SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT OUR SERVICES WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS.

NPCA IS NOT A LICENSING BODY AND DOES NOT PROVIDE TRAINING, CERTIFICATION, OR INSURANCE SERVICES. MEMBERSHIP DOES NOT SUBSTITUTE FOR REQUIRED STATE CERTIFICATIONS.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, NPCA SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OUR SERVICES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR MEMBERSHIP IN THE PAST 12 MONTHS.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless NPCA, its officers, directors, and volunteers from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of our services or violation of these terms.

13. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of our services shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association. You agree to waive any right to participate in class action lawsuits.

14. Changes to Terms

We may modify these terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by email or through our website. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

15. Governing Law

These terms shall be governed by the laws of the United States and the state where NPCA is incorporated, without regard to conflict of law principles.
